Position Overview
The Middle School STEM/Robotics Teacher engages students in hands-on, project-based learning focused on engineering, robotics, coding, and problem-solving. The teacher fosters curiosity, creativity, and collaboration while helping students build foundational STEM skills.
Responsibilities
- Teach middle school STEM and robotics courses
- Design and implement hands-on engineering and robotics projects
- Introduce coding, mechanical design, and basic computer science concepts
- Guide students through the engineering design process
- Manage STEM lab equipment and materials
- Support or coach robotics clubs or teams (such as FIRST Robotics or VEX Robotics)
- Assess student learning through projects and performance-based tasks
- Collaborate with faculty and communicate with families
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field
- Experience working with middle school students
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for hands-on, innovative learning
Preferred Experience
- Experience with robotics platforms such as VEX Robotics or LEGO Education
- Coaching robotics teams or STEM clubs
